Brimsdown, Enfield

Position reports to: Operations Manager

Job purpose: To deliver goods ordered by customers to their sites using company delivery lorries

Key Responsibilities:
 - deliver goods to customer sites on company HGV and non-HGV vehicles
 - multiple drops per 'run'
 - load vehicles with assistance of other staff
 - correctly identify products and quantity being loaded onto vehicle
 - ensure the highest practical levels of health and safety on the road, on company premises
   and whilst off loading at customer sites

 - ensure all legislation and working hours are complied with to the letter
 - maintaining a helpful, polite and friendly relationship with customers
 - co-operate with Operations Manager and other staff to ensure deliveries are carried out
   promptly and to customers expectations

 - minimise loss of stock through damage and theft
 - keep vehicles to the highest levels of cleanliness and tidiness
 - work in other areas of the business if no deliveries are required eg yard work
 - identify and monitor problems, ensuring they are shared with staff and resolved
 - work with all members of staff to enable everyone to succeed
 - assist with the 'move' of products from our existing Southbury Road depot to new Brimsdown
   depot

Key skills required:
 - HGV Drivers Licence
 - ability to assist customers in a helpful and friendly manner
 - knowledge of building materials and other products sold (product training may be available
   to candidates who are otherwise strong and who demonstrate a keen interest in the
   industry but have little formal training)
 - ability to operate materials handling equipment eg forklift and reach trucks (training may be
   available to candidates who are otherwise strong but lack formal training)
 - ability to work within a team to the benefit of all
 - reliability, honesty, trustworthiness
 - computer skills

Hours:
- flexible - 40 hours per week plus 1 hour lunch each day
- branch open 6am - 8pm Monday - Friday, 6am to 6pm Saturday, 10am to 4pm Sunday.
   willingness to work shifts including Saturdays and/or Sundays
- part time contracts considered


Salary & Benefits:
- £ 23,648 per annum
- plus overtime when applicable
- plus personal performance bonus and a general company bonus
- plus pension contributions after 12 months service
- Holiday: 24 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff)

  bonus payments for successful completion, part funded advanced training, part funded non
  vocational training, flexible working conditions
