Job Title: Yard/Warehouse/Counter Assistants (Click here to apply)

Based at:
Brimsdown, Enfield

Position reports to: Operations Manager

Job purpose: To assist in the day to day operation of the business, serving customers and
  stock management.

Key Responsibilities:
 - assist customers with the selection and serving of the goods they require
 - safely put away, stock or display goods received from suppliers in the correct location
 - assist company drivers in the loading of their vehicles
 - maintain the highest practical levels of health and safety
 - to minimise loss of stock through damage and theft
 - keep the highest levels of cleanliness and tidiness
 - work where it is needed in the yard / warehouse / trade counter / display showroom
 - back up delivery drivers on non HGV company vehicles
 - identify and monitor problems, ensuring they are shared with staff and resolved
 - work with all members of staff to enable everyone to succeed

Key skills required:
 - ability to assist customers in a helpful and friendly manner
 - knowledge of building materials and other products sold (product training may be available
   to candidates who are otherwise strong and who demonstrate a keen interest in the
   industry but have little formal training)
 - ability to operate materials handling equipment eg forklift and reach trucks (training may be
   available to candidates who are otherwise strong but lack formal training)
 - ability to work within a team to the benefit of all
 - work proactively and independently
 - reliability, honesty, trustworthiness
 - computer skills

Hours:
- part time week end & evening shifts - branch open 6am - 8pm Monday - Friday, 6am to 6pm Saturday, 10am to 4pm Sunday.

Salary:
- £ 6.41 per hour
